A family tradition since 1956

In 1956, Richard C. Aey started Aey Electric out of his home on Youngstown’s west side, primarily taking residential electric jobs. Since then, the company has grown into one of the tri-state area’s leading providers of electrical contracting services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Owned and operated by Richard’s two sons, Bob and Rick, Aey Electric is a company built upon a family tradition of excellence, from the services it provides to the employees who make up its team. As an IEC merit shop (Independent Electrical Contractors), Aey’s apprentices all go through the IEC’s four-year training program to obtain their Ohio State Journeyman credentials.

Apprentices train at the IEC’s Western Reserve Chapter twice weekly while working full-time. Aey also trains its employees to get their fire alarm license, and conducts continuing education courses for each electrician a few times each year.

Aey Electric is a lead-certified, family-owned company, and is licensed, bonded, and insured. Bob and Rick are licensed Ohio electrical contractors (Bob: Ohio state license #16774 – Rick: Ohio state license #16775), and have completed OSHA 10- and OSHA 30-hour training.

We are members of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, the BBB of the Mahoning Valley, Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), IEC Western Reserve, Ohio Edison, and the Central Inspection Bureau.
